Thank you for your interest in Cornell Engineering and our two high school senior visitation programs. 

Cornell Engineering is pleased to offer the Engineering Diversity Hosting Weekend (EDHW) and Spring Women in Engineering (WiE) Programs. Both programs are a great opportunity for admitted students to come see what Cornell Engineering and the University as a whole have to offer! 

Spring 2017 registration will open mid-March 2017! 

The hosting programs are joint recruitment events hosted by DPE and Engineering Admissions. These programs provide you with an insider's view into life as a Cornell Engineer. As part of the program, you will have the chance to experience the following: 

  • Participate in an interactive lab demonstration 
  • Interact with faculty, staff, and students 
  • Learn about the opportunities and resources available to Cornell Engineers 
  • Tour the Engineering facilities 
  • Gain an understanding of how the College of Engineering fits within the University 
  • Hear from our Engineering Project Team leaders 
  • Gain insight into undergraduate research 

Registration for the hosting programs will open in March. Registration is first come, first served and fills quickly.

Diversity Hosting Weekend
Diversity Hosting Weekend (DHW) Program

EDHW is a two day program that focuses on inviting admitted underrepresented ethnic minority (URM) and/or first generation students to experience life as a Cornell Engineer!

  • The spring EDHW Program is for admitted Engineering students only(graduating the upcoming Spring semester)
  • DHW participants have the opportunity to stay overnight in a residence hall with a Cornell student.

Women in Engineering
Women in Engineering (WIE) Program

WIE is a joint recruitment program with DPE, Engineering Admissions and the Society of Women Engineers focused on introducing high school women to engineering and Cornell University. Full details for this one-day program will be available in March.

  • The spring WiE Program is for admitted Engineering female students only (graduating the upcoming Spring semester).

Additional Precollege Recruitment Initiatives:

Recruitment activities may take place in collaboration with Engineering Admissions and/or other academic departments and research centers. Activities include participation in conferences (such as AISES, NSBE, SASE, SHPE, & SWE) as well as at college fairs and high school visits.
